The Siai Marchetti comes after some years of not developing any plane for xplane, as personal project. The continuous development of planes for Laminar Research, and the huge effort I had to produce for finishing the Jetstream32, let me without any energy to make any personal project.
When Xplane11 was released I was said to not continue in Laminar Research. So I started to look for possible solutions to the future absence of incomming money.
But my biggest problem is that I didn't know how to program. Yes, I made the miracle to program the Jetstream32, but my knoledge was very limited to built something bigger. And I didn't want to repeat the mistake of putting all my energy in programming the systems.

Time passed, until I discovered a program next winter of the release of Xplane11. Substance Painter. I bought it in Black Friday discounts and started to do some tutorials. But it toke me 6 months to trully start to work with it and understand it (not because the complexity, but the little free time I had). Once I saw the huge potential of this program I decided I wanted to put all my energy as texturer artist in a next model.
Still didn't know if that model was going to be for Xplane or other game. As you may know, I have worked in many game industries, and after 9 years I felt a little tired of always making planes. I wouldn't do any plane if it was not going to be my best plane. Not only in graphics, but in soul.

And then, speaking with Jose Luis Castillo, he recomended me to speak with 2 people. 2 programmers. One of them was not very known by me, but other yes.. and I liked his work.
You may know that each developer what it does is (maybe) the addon that he cannot buy because it doesn't exist. After building, the tremendous energy he has to put, inside, makes him with no derire of use his own work, so that is the reason, as flight fan, that I always fly FSX or P3D in my free time. And because I am more of GA than Airliners, I always used A2A planes.
I always wanted to see something like an A2A plane in Xplane.. and that is what simcoders was doing. So I thought, "why not? and put in touch with him.
what would you like to build with me, he replied. And I said, that I didn't have any special desire. That I would like to see my already built planes with REP system in them. Then Siai Marchetti came as a blast from the mouth of Claudio, and we decided we were going to make that little plane. I alwasy like to make sexy planes.

I was living rented in a new house in a new village, because the last one we had started to be very small for our 2 children. And in there I had Fiber internet connection. Fast enough to make life streeming.
You maybe don't know what is to be 10 years working alone at home. The good thing is that I don't have to hear everyday a chief with his demands. The bad, is that I am disconnected from new technology that brigs the work companions.. and specially to be with those companions, and talk with them. So I decided that I was going to make live my work of the Siai Marchetti and share with anyone that wanted to be inside the boat.
The result was more than 100 videos of work. Each video with 4-6 hours of duration.... I showed all my tricks because I don't fear that another person from another company copy my ideas, because what noone will be able to copy ever is my ideas.
So here you have the list of all the videos work in the project:

119 videos of work in the Siai Marchetti from Scratch

After finishing that videos, Claudio started to work in the REP system giving more that I spected. And still he does.
The Siai Marchetti has become one of my favorite planes as flight fan. I never fly my work, but in this case it is a pleasure to do it. Of course I would like to play also with Star Citizen, but for that still it is needed 2 years more minimum. haha.

When we finished the plane, we knew that the people were not going to enter into the Siai Marchetti with blind eyes. Even I showed all the work done, and the enormous effort to bring it into live, I received some comentaries before releasing it, like:

" After the marvelous CRJ200 you made, how you make this piece of shit?"

"ok.. that is good, but when are your going to release the CRJ200 v2?"

"it is very nice, what is going to be your next project?"

We do live in times when the new stuff that is released last no more than 1 week. AAA games that are hyped to the max, last only that first week, and then they are forgotten.
People buy a plane, fly it twice and then they are desiring to buy the next one. Hungry for new products. Where that speed comes from? I suppose from our times, that we do not stop and look what we have.
I won't make any new project until I feel the Siai Marchetti is finished for me. We, Claudio and I are enjoying the features we are adding. We are fighting against the imposibles to make the product to be remembered. A product that don't have an FMC and don't fly at FL350, but that we do belive is has a lot of fun to release... as this user wrote in the forum when we released the avionics option without GPS:

As I always say, money is tremendously important, as it gives us the time to pay our bills and continue doing what we love as job. But is not enough. I don't want you to only pay me and forget the plane. I want you to feel the plane.. and fly it one flight after other and other. That is why we made it.
not to make some stupid aerobatics and forget it.
The good thing is that the plane has been very well received between the comunity. At least, outside of Twitch, where still the borind airliners (for me) are the kings of the hill.

As I said in the end of the video. For those that love to fly low and fast (or slow compared with big guys). Thanks!

Product Description

The SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 is maybe the most famous Italian light aircraft. It's a great success as a military trainer and aerobatics aircraft. Its nickname is 'Ferrari of the skies' for its slick appearance and its high cruise speed.
JRollon Planes and SimCoders.com have joined their forces to bring this little marvel to you. The REP expansion pack from Simcoders is already included in the SF-260!
Now you can fly the SF.260 in X-Plane and enjoy this little but powerful airplane! We put our hearts and souls to build this little machine and we are sure you are going to enjoy it so much. Before flying it, we really recommend reading the User Manuals "Systems" and "Flight characteristics" chapters.
